Yuxi does not have its own commercial airport. Most visitors fly into Kunming Changshui Airport (KMG), then drive 80 km south to Yuxi. The drive takes about 1.5 hours by private car.

It has two operational passenger terminals: Terminal 2 (many domestic and some international flights) and Terminal 3 (Air China, Star Alliance, and most long-haul international flights).
